Who you are, where are you from? Why did you start Keto? In other words, what’s the story?

I am Jeffrey A. Reyes from Metro Manila Philippines. I have started Keto diet because I can’t give up the meats when I do diet. I have tried several diet plans like vegan & no seasoning diet but after 1 week I always give up. Then I heard about keto diet that you don’t need to give up the foods that high in fats. I do go to the gym 5 times a week. During the weeks without Keto I can’t see result since my belly is still big maybe because of the carbs that I take, when I started the Keto on first 2 weeks I can see the difference I don’t feel weak at the gym and I start seeing changes on my belly.

What did you personally do in your first 10 days of keto?


On my first 5 days I didn’t go strict on my carbs, I am still consuming 1 cup of rice per day since it’s hard for me give it up. Then day 6th to 10th started ½ cup of rice per day. Then from there moving forward I made the Keto strict diet which is no carbs intake like rice, corn, bread tec… What carbs that I get is from the veggies that I eat.

Do you count and track macros strictly?

At some point yes. Since I go to the gym I always maintain my protein intake I always make sure that I consume 1:1 ratio of protein grams base on my weight in pounds. For example my weight is 160lbs I make sure I take 160g of protein per day. When It comes on fats I do take as much as I can since I need it to boost my energy when I am at the gym. On carbs strictly low carbs intake.

How has your life changed since going keto?

I feel more energetic when I am on Keto compare to the other diet that I did from the pass. I feel light and stronger.

Have you ever encountered a plateau? If so, how did you get over it?

I haven’t encountered plateau since i set on my mind that I have to give the Keto diet at least a month to see the result. After a month when I saw the result I was convince that its working so I continued it.


What is your WHY (your drive/motivation) to keep on track and stay focused?

My motivation to keep on track is my wedding date. I will be getting married this coming December 10, 2019 so I want to look good on my wedding day.

What is your favorite Keto recipe?

My favorite Keto recipe bacon and egg for breakfast of course. Then I do have my Keto Pizza since I love pizza and pesto chicken casserole.


Finally, What advice would you give someone who is just starting out on keto?

I was into body building during my early age. But that was changed when I’m getting older and start building a family. As a freelance which is working from home always in front of the computer everyday. I gain weight and my belly started to get big. When we have some family reunion they always ask me what happen to me I gain so much weight and they cant see the Jeff which is body conscious before. Then it comes that I am getting married so I decided get back to the gym and do some Keto diet for faster results. My only advice to others which is starting on Keto diet is be patient not everything can’t be changed in a day or week. Also stop doing a weight scale yourself each week when you are on Keto diet, focus on the results by doing a picture of you each week that’s the best way of comparison.
